Landfall Annual Meeting: Saturday, June 22nd at 4pm at 12 Landfall Circle. A detailed agenda for the Annual Meeting is forthcoming.
Robert Rosenberg
I am a 18 year resident of Landfall. Having grown up on Long Island, I spent many summers visiting the East End and renting in the Northwest Woods for many years. My wife and I were fortunate to find our Landfall home and have enjoyed many wonderful years here.
I recently joined the LPOA board and have enjoyed the opportunity to serve our community.
Seven years ago, I retired from a long career as an attorney, most recently as Associate General Counsel at HSBC Bank USA. Prior to that I had a 20 year career at Ingersoll Rand Company. My wife and I have lived and traveled extensively around the world. We have raised two daughters and have four grandchildren who love to visit Landfall.
Landfall is a special place and I look forward to working on the Board to improve our community.
Eduardo Varela
My name is Eduardo Varela, and I am delighted to present my candidacy for re-election to the LPOA Board. I look forward to another term of collaboration with fellow Board members and volunteers, as we continue to enhance the Landfall community—a place I’m proud to call home since 2018. My past two years on the Board have been very rewarding and I am proud of our collective accomplishments and the progress we have made.
In my role as Director and Communications Chair, I have launched our community website, www.Landfall.online, which provides Board updates, a social events calendar, useful quick links and resources, and an online Members Directory. Additionally, I have introduced a new resident’s welcome package, seasonal newsletters, and over 70 email updates over the past two years to keep our community well-informed. These communication efforts have significantly boosted neighbor engagement, as evidenced by the record-level collection rates for our Annual Dues and the 2023 Special Assessment—surpassing 90%.
I also spearheaded the Landfall+ Savings initiative, fulfilling a long-standing request from our residents by negotiating a group discount program with local vendors. This program has provided benefits and cost savings to the Landfall community on services such as oil and propane, tick and insect spraying, pool maintenance, landscaping, and irrigation, among others.
Additionally, I have communicated diligently with town officials to prioritize the repaving of Landfall streets. You may remember the automated “petition email” I created which over 40 neighbors used to voice their support to the head of the Highway Department. This collective effort resulted in the repaving of over 100,000 square feet of our roads last year and the repair of numerous dangerous potholes.
Most recently, I have been leading the beach stairs reconstruction for the Board since we kicked-off the project in January. From developing a proposed plan of action to raise over $100,000 through a special assessment, to drafting a detailed scope of work for local vendors to bid on, I have effectively managed every aspect. This includes assessing vendor proposals, finalizing the stairs’ new design and location following building codes, sharing our plans with the community during the Fall town hall, and diligently working with First Coastal, our selected construction firm, on permit applications with the EH Town Trustees, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, and the EH Town Zoning Board of Appeals. With two out of three permits already approved, I will oversee the construction phase upon receiving final approval from the East Hampton Building Department. This project is arguably Landfall’s most significant endeavor in years, and with the support of my fellow Board members, I am confident that we will bring it to completion on time and within budget.
If re-elected, I will be eager to continue dedicating my personal time and professional skills—from interior design and real estate development with my firm Domicile & Co. to my previous experience as a marketing executive at HSBC Bank and American Express—to serve our Landfall community.
Michael Grimstad
My husband Marshall and I have lived in Landfall for over 10 years and continue to fall in love with our neighborhood for all it has to offer. It's also been a joy to get to know so many of our neighbors through the Association. We have 2 french bulldogs and you'll often see us walking them around the neighborhood and park - please say hi if you do! Professionally I'm a consultant focused on strategy & technology at Publicis Sapient.
It has been my pleasure to serve on the LPOA Board since 2016 and as the Board's President since 2020. I'm grateful to the members of the Board - past and present - who have invested their time and energy in making Landfall such a special place. If re-elected, my priorities are to continue to broaden participation in the Association, offer diverse opportunities for Members to meet and socialize, and ensure a swift rebuild of our beach stairs.
Vera Silver
My name is Vera Silver and I’d be honored to serve on the Landfall Property Owners Association Board. My husband, Scott Trommer, and I bought our forever home a few years ago. When we first started looking for our home, we fell in love with the Landfall area. The unique homes, beautiful and mature trees, proximity to the beach and parks, is what’s makes this neighborhood so unique. We also love the sense of community and engagement. I’d love to be considered for a role on the board. Given my love for the area and being fortunate to live here, I’d like to contribute to the continued beauty and quality of life of Landfall. It’s been a pleasure serving as an alternate board member and learning how the Board operates.

Nick Elliot
It has been my pleasure to serve on the LPOA Board as Vice President for the last two years with my fellow board members. I am keen to continue my participation on the board for a further term.
As a permanent, full-time resident of Landfall with my husband, Scott since March 2021 (and more recently Parker, our golden retriever) I have enjoyed the beauty, tranquility, and sense of community that Landfall oNers. We have a very special community and one that we need to maintain and protect.
My professional background in law, coupled with my commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all, drives my desire to give back to the community in which I live. During my current term on the Board, I was happy to take the lead on drafting and implementing the updated Bylaws, with the active support of my fellow Bylaw Committee members, and also contribute to the beach stairs rebuild project, Landfall’s most important asset.
I believe that I have a lot to offer our community and would very much like the opportunity to help progress the good work done by the current LPOA Board to date and focus on improving the community that we all enjoy as LPOA Members. Open and transparent communication is key and I look forward to meeting LPOA members to canvas thoughts and ideas for our community if I am elected to serve again on the LPOA Board.
Katie Dunn
Thank you for allowing me to serve as Treasurer on the Landfall Board of Directors for the past two years. I am Katie Dunn, and I live at 12 Masthead Lane with my dog, Amber (You may recognize us from our daily walks.) I moved to Landfall in 2015 and I am a permanent, full-time resident as of March 2020. In these last few years, I have gotten to know many of you personally (mainly because of Amber!) and, like you, love our plot on Gardiners Bay. Professionally, I left "Corporate America" two years ago and work from home as a full-time angel investor, board director, and advisor to early-stage startups. I primarily serve underrepresented founders (women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+).
My background is in finance (Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame) and commercial real estate (Master of Science degree in Real Estate from Roosevelt University), which gives me a unique advantage in understanding what it means to deal with municipalities, vendors, lawyers, environmental and engineering challenges, insurance, etc., to maintain and improve real estate developments. My financial expertise is deep; I have significantly honed and perfected my skills through underwriting commercial real estate loans worth trillions of dollars during my 25+ year career reviewing and creating complex financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows. Additionally, I embrace technology to bring efficiencies to managing tasks.
In my role as Treasurer, I have personally contributed to the following initiatives over the last two years:
Financial Updates: In addition to PayPal and taking paper checks, I've secured Venmo and Zelle as payment options for dues and assessments, offering lower fees and making payments more convenient. I have transitioned our banking to JP Morgan Chase from Dime (we are now earning higher interest on our reserves via two-month CDs, taking Zelle payments, making payments online, and having a more sophisticated platform to support our needs). I introduced improvements to the financial model and improved efficiency and tracking. With the help of the Board, we achieved the highest collection of dues in years: 85% in 2022, 93% in 2023, Assessment 93%, and 83.5% as of April 2024.
Bylaws Committee: I took a lead role in redrafting the Bylaws approved in 2023. This was a much-needed update that brought our community into the present day and should serve us well in the future.
Stairs Rebuild: As the Treasurer, I review all activities, job status, and invoices, and make payments. Due to my professional network, I was able to provide referrals for structural engineers to review the stairs' state before and after the storms' damage.
Hosting our Community: I hosted the Spring Clean Up event with dumpsters and donations and the Summer Annual Meeting in 2023 at my home.
Our current board has been incredibly successful in working together to move the community forward, offering more opportunities to gather and enjoy Landfall together. I look forward to continuing our work.
I welcome input from all and would love to hear what other neighbors would like to prioritize and improve. My ultimate goal remains to preserve and increase the value of our homes in Landfall and keep the neighborhood an exceptional place to live!
Rita Gallagher
I am Rita Gallagher and I live at 27 Landfall Rd (corner of Semaphore). I am running to serve my second term on the Board of the Landfall Property Owners Association.
My husband, Robert, and I happily found Landfall in 2019. As year-round residents, we feel incredibly fortunate to call this beautiful and peaceful place home. Our two grown kids live in the San Francisco Bay area though we convince them to visit often!
While still relatively new to East Hampton, I have deep roots on Long Island. Various family members have lived on Fire Island since the 1930s, and I have spent summer vacations there since childhood. Preserving the natural beauty of the East End is close to my heart. Following a 30+ year career engaging with some of the largest financial services firms worldwide, I recently retired (or am on an extended vacation - I can’t decide which!). Together, Robert and I enjoy travel, landscaping projects, leisurely walks with our pup, cooking, and taking in shows at the local theaters.
Here in Landfall, I continue to marvel at the vibrancy of this special community, and it’s been a pleasure serving on the Board these past two years. Going forward our highest priority is rebuilding the beach stairs ensuring safe access to the Bay as soon as possible. Additionally, if re-elected I’ll continue to represent our collective interests, encouraging input on all concerns among them several that are important to me, including environmental protection, compliance with rental property, regulations, and noise control to ensure that Landfall remains a wonderful place to live. I will also continue to promote community interaction and involvement so we have more opportunities to form and deepen our connections to each other within the community overall. I look forward to many more of these opportunities!
