On Sunday, May 17, at 10 a.m., Landfall resident Peter Coy will lead a hike for LPOA members in Cedar Point County Park and beyond. This is the third annual excursion in cooperation with the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society, where Peter is a board member.
We will meet on Landfall Circle by the woods at the top of the circle (next to the home of Eduardo Varela and Stephen Mellert). We will enter Cedar Point County Park there and go to the Northwest Trail, which is marked with yellow triangles. From there we'll go south, cross the park road, and pass by Alewife Pond. At that point, we'll have two choices: Cross Alewive Brook Road and enter the Grace Estate, or head out to Northwest Harbor via a combination of road and trail. Then back. Which way we go will depend on hikers' preferences. Total distance about 3 miles.
Please bring water and a snack. Tuck your pants into your socks and spray yourself for ticks. When you get home, check your whole body for ticks. With these precautions, you should be fine.
