More than fifty years of Landfall—its history, its people, and the community they created.

LANDFALL: “It Will Be What You Make of It” tells the story of our neighborhood, from the land that existed long before its first roads were drawn through the creation of Landfall in 1971 and the generations of residents who shaped the community that followed.

Drawing from original maps, photographs, newsletters, correspondence, legal documents, meeting records, and the Landfall Archives, the book brings together stories and materials that for decades were scattered among old files, boxes, and the memories of residents.

Along the way, discover how Landfall got its name, how its streets and reserved lands were planned, the origins of our beach access, the homes and people of the early neighborhood, the challenges the community faced, and the volunteers and Boards who helped preserve its character for more than five decades.

Richly illustrated with original archival materials, this digital edition is both a history of Landfall and a celebration of the people who made it a community.

And in keeping with the spirit of community and volunteerism celebrated throughout its pages, the Landfall Property Owners Association will donate 100% of the proceeds from the book, less only the payment-processing fee, to the East Hampton Food Pantry.

Your purchase helps preserve and share Landfall’s history while supporting neighbors in need throughout the greater East Hampton community.
